Offer Description

This position is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Chemistry Researcher to join a highly motivated team in a leading research institute. The successful applicant will work with the research team on various industrial projects which focus on the synthesis of organic compounds in consultation with a local pharmaceutical company.

The successful candidate should have a keen interest in and knowledge of organic chemistry, as well as excellent communication (presentation and report writing), organisational and problem-solving skills. A background in laboratory research and experience with handling laboratory instruments and interpretation of characterization data (TLC, 1D and 2D NMR, FTIR, m/z) is critical.

This is a full-time position until the end of 2024 (with a possibility of extension) located in our research institute (Chair of Organic Chemistry) in Ljubljana.

 

Chemistry Researcher Duties

• Carry out organic synthetic work and the associated purification and characterization of desired intermediates and final products.
• Analyse and interpret data from experiments.
• Prepare documentation and reports on research and findings.
• Assist with the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Assist with the procurement of chemicals and other materials.
