Offer Description

The University of Primorska (UP) invites applicants for a position of Assistant Professor.

The selected candidate will become a member of the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Humanities (FHS).

The selected candidate will participate in the educational, scientific and research work. The candidate will also perform other tasks, specified in the acts of UP and its faculty members. The candidate will conduct lectures and seminars, and perform other pedagogical activities.

The employment relationship will be concluded for a period of two years from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2026 for full-time work with the possibility of long-term cooperation.

Your profile:

• The candidate must hold a relevant education with a completed PhD in Geography and a broad knowledge in the fields of physical and social geography

• The candidate must hold a title of Assistant Professor in Geography (Higher education teachers) or meet the criteria for this title (https://www.upr.si/en/about-university/regulations-and-other-documents/internal-acts-of-the-up/  : Criteria for appointment to teaching, research and associate positions at the UP )

• The candidate must have organizational, teamwork and communication skills, ability to accomplish tasks independently and self-initiatively, must have an advanced computer and audio-visual skills, good knowledge of MS Office and Microsoft Outlook software, as well as a sense of fairness and objectivity, motivation for teaching students, the desire for continuous professional, pedagogical and scientific-research improvement in the field

• The candidate must be fluent in Slovenian language at level C2 and in English language at level B1.
