Analytical chemist

The InnoRenew CoE is seeking a well-qualified analytical chemist to work on InnoRenew CoE projects in a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment. This position is located in Koper and Izola, Slovenia.

What are we looking for:

The main tasks of this position are to prepare, process, and analyse samples in state-of-the-art analytical devices. The primary field of research is related to renewable materials, their modification, and composites made from them. Demonstrating independence in planning and execution of analytical methods development using variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation is critical. The candidate should be able to operate, troubleshoot, and do basic maintenance on various analytical devices with an emphasis on spectroscopic equipment. The candidate should be able to clearly explain and interpret data for academic and non-academic audiences. Experience using GC-MS and/or LC-MS-MS and other laboratory equipment is favourable.

What skills we expect:

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in chemistry or related field of science, preferably with post-doctoral experience.

Required qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree
  • Previous experience with spectroscopic analysis equipment
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience communicating research results to industry and other researchers
  • Experience with processing spectroscopic data in different environments
  • Demonstrated independence in conducting research
