Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Dr LIU Shi on leveraging enzyme catalysis to design functional peptides with novel mechanisms of action.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
1. Genome mining and characterization of novel RiPP enzymes
2. Investigating the substrate scope and catalytic mechanisms of selected RiPP enzymes
3. Implementing enzyme and substrate engineering to construct peptide libraries
4. Peptide library screening to search for therapeutically useful bioactivities
Qualifications
• Qualifications / Discipline:
PhD degree in a relevant field (chemistry and biology)
• Skills:
Molecular biology, natural product biosynthesis, protein engineering, metabolic engineering
• Experience:
Peptide biosynthesis, enzyme engineering, metabolic engineering
