Job Description

The candidate will be expected to be able to support educational research of Educator-track staff in the Department through:
•Surveying the literature on research topics
•Writing and applying for grants and ethical permits
•Data collection, processing, and analysis social research (qualitative and quantitative)
•Writing and presenting the study findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
•Be friendly to work with and highly self-motivated
•It is possible for the candidate to use the research experience in this role to fulfill part of the requirements of a part-time postgraduate degree (eg Masters in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, etc) but this should be discussed openly during the interview
•While the deliverables will be articulated by the supervising faculty, this role is flexible in location and timing, with WFH-as default. However, presence on-site may be required for data collection purposes and reporting. 


Qualifications

•Honors, Masters or PhD in a relevant field (science, social sciences, humanities, communications, business etc)
•Must have had some experience in qualitative or quantitative social science or educational research (final year projects, graduate research etc)
•Track record of independent research and publication is highly advantageous
•Should be proficient in using basic statistical features of SPSS, R, Graphpad, excel etc.
•Specific knowledge of microbiology/life sciences/biology/teaching is NOT essential
