Job Description

The role is primarily to assist the Dean of Faculty (chair of the Core Curriculum self study committee) and the Director, Common Curriculum (DCC) in administrative duties relating to the Common Curriculum and implementation plans for the Common Curriculum Review in AY 21-22. The role will also take on specific project-based tasks as needed, e.g. Yale-NUS website revamp.

 

This is a 6 Months Contract Position.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with the Dean of Faculty and the Director of the Common Curriculum in administrative coordination for the Common Curriculum.
  • Administrative support for Common Curriculum working groups:  To support three Common Curriculum faculty working groups who will be designing curricula and researching specific areas of the Common Curriculum. These groups will need administrative support for scheduling meetings and discussions; as well as research support locating archival material; taking minutes and assisting in report drafting; logistics for outside consultants.
  • Document and update Common Curriculum teaching and other activities: (Once per semester) Collate and upload of Facilitators Reports; course evaluation data analysis; update Common Curriculum microsite; maintain syllabi archive; update faculty assignment in Common Curriculum modules database; and related matters. Coordinate the preparation of annual report on the common curriculum
  • Secretariat support for Council of Facilitators : Develop agenda; minutes taking and follow-up on action items, as required; logistics: schedule & catering
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings for the DCC
  • Conduct research and surveys on issues surrounding teaching policies and programs; liaise on research projects with other academic institutions; develop evaluation standards and methods
  • Pro-actively manage project communications, tasks, and timelines; and monitor compliance with Common Curriculum and teaching-related policies
  • Draft or revise memos, reports, and publicity documents on the Common Curriculum and other teaching matters, as required by the Director or Dean of Faculty
  • Perform other non-CC project-based duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty, could possibly include supporting and liaising with the College website revamp, among others.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, work well independently, in a team, and with colleagues in other departments
  • Ability to cope well with tight deadlines and conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, stakeholder management and communication skills, including written and visual presentations
  • Experience with evidence-driven strategic planning and analytical skills (including skills in statistical and data software)
  • Takes initiative and has excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently with initiative and minimum supervision
  • Confident and able to enjoy interacting with faculty
  • Agility and adaptability to evolve in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
