Job Description

 

We’re looking for team players and passionate Techechnology Transfer Professionals & Innovators to translate and commercialise Intellectual Properties (IP) and Technologies.
 

The Technology Commercialisation, Lead/ Associate will develop and build good relationships with NUS research community and industry/ venture partners for the purpose of driving the commercialisation of NUS technologies. You will evaluate the commercialisation potential of newly disclosed technologies and develop a strategy to commercialize the technologies.

 

You will identify & manage IP translation project to raise the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and will play a leadership role in structuring & negotiating license agreements. You will work with a variety of stakeholders including academics, funding agencies, potential licensees and early stage investors. Opportunity to grow skillsets in diverse aspects of Technology Transfer business.


Roles and Responsibilities
  • To evaluate the commercialisation potential of newly disclosed invention and to identify technology for commercialisation.
  • To explore various types of commercialisation strategy (including spin-off, license to external party) with researchers and students.
  • Marketing and Promotion activities directed at attracting licensing of NUS technologies from external parties.
  • To propose and manage IP translation or technology development projects.
  • To structure and negotiate IP & license agreements.
  • To maintain rapport and good relationships with inventors for technology/ knowledge transfer.
  • To develop a prospect list of licensees, early stage investors and to maintain good relationships with the stakeholders.
  • IP portfolio management and managing patent filings.

Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree, preferably PhD in Biochemical engineering, Chemistry/ Chemical engineering, Electrical & Electronics engineering and Material Science.
  • Ability to appreciate current state and future trend of technological development.
  • Business development and marketing experience.
  • Possess product development/ licensing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with researchers, senior business executives and early stage investors.
  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property and Contract law.
  • Understanding of IP Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill.
