Technical Officer (Food Technology – RaPID/SPICE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in Project that is pertaining to food product development, process development, food packaging development, food analysis, sensory evaluation, and shelf-life study etc.
  • Carry out laboratory work, literature review, and other research activities held in various innovation centers for Project.
  • Assist in writing of research project grant.
  • Perform procurement activities of equipment, chemicals, ingredients, and other consumables for Project use.
  • Track and maintain inventory of chemicals, ingredients, and other consumables that are used for Project.
  • Prepare Risk Assessment for Project activities.
  • Supervise student helpers and provide equipment training for Project work.
  • Assist in laboratory management as required.

Job Requirements

  • Have a good degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or relevant fields.
  • knowledge in food ingredients/ packaging/ processing, and their applications in food products.
  • Understanding with experience in food chemistry/ texture/ sensory evaluation/ microbiology, and discerned laboratory skills for food analysis will be advantageous.
  • Prior research or industry experience in food projects will be advantageous.
  • Have knowledge in basic food hygiene, good manufacturing practices.
