Specialist Associate, St John's Island National Marine Laboratory

-A Specialist Associate (SpA) is required to assist in management of Research Vessel and the facilities at St John's Island National Marine Laboratory.
- The Job Scope covers both research vessel and facility maintenance, safety and training for research staff on safety and equipment usage.
- In addition to the duties, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support scientists in research.
- Primary job location is at St John's Island National Marine Laboratory.

Duties & Responsibilities
- He/she will be responsible for the safe conduct of field activities.
- He/she will assist in maintenance of marine lab facilities and research vessel management.
- He/she will assist in the management and conduct of training programs for safe conduct of field work and aquaria use.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Basic knowledge in electrical, mechanical and piping works is required.
- Candidate must possess good computer knowledge (MS word, MS Excel and Powerpoint).
- Must be able to swim well, Rescue diver certification will be an advantage.
- Candidate with Port Limits Steersman or Port Limits Engine Driver (Third Class) will be an advantage.
- Class 3 driving licence and First Aider certification will be an advantage.
- Candidate should have a strong interest and working knowledge of Singapore coastal waters and marine habitats.
- Candidates must possess good communication skill and positive attitude.
- Candidate should be self-motivated but comfortable to work in a team.
