The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer for its Department of Digital Learning. We are looking for someone with a comprehensive understanding of project operations and scope, capable of both creating and implementing systems software and analyzing data to enhance existing systems. Responsibilities

The candidate is responsible for the creation, development, and upkeep of new software and applications, while also collaborating with various stakeholders to craft a robust and scalable system. Their responsibilities include:

  • Acquainting themselves with, managing, and maintaining LKCMedicine learning systems.

  • Crafting and developing software/applications to meet stakeholders’ requirements, ensuring robustness and functionality.

  • Gathering requirements from users and stakeholders for immediate and future system enhancements.

  • Testing and deploying programs and applications.

  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and enhancing existing software.

  • Recording and escalating support issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to:

  • Undertake responsibilities and initiatives related to all aspects of software/application development, both collaboratively and independently.

  • Exhibit a personable, approachable, and proactive behaviour in providing assistance to stakeholders and users of the software/application.

  • Experience in project management and implementation.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and/or an IT related field; fresh graduates are welcomed to apply

  • 1-2 years of working experience in software development

  • Proficiency in cloud solutions and front-end frameworks

  • Understanding Efficiency with the use of Javascript, HTML, ReactJS, Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Demonstrated previous experience from polytechnic / university portfolio

  • Proactive attitude and approach to problem-solving

  • Resourceful and driven to learn

  • Familiar with scrum and agile methodology

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with customers, project teams and colleagues

Advantageous to Have:

  • Working experience in Medical educational environment

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft Azure

This is a 3 years contract appointment.
