A Senior Research Fellow position is currently available in the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS). Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 11th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world’s best young universities. The Earth Observatory in Singapore (EOS) at NTU Singapore is a national science Research Center of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Modeling of components of sea-level rise and their inter-dependencies

  • Interface with climate modeling experts and insurance industry partners on the relevant data for modeling and analysis

  • Take part in decision-making discussions and be involved in all workshops

  • Ensure publications are rapidly disseminated, although authorship of the publications resulting from the work will in each case reflect individual inputs to the investigation reported


Job Requirements

  • Ph.D and undergraduate degree in coastal engineering, climate science  or related discipline

  • At least four years of relevant experience

  • Strong fundamentals of climate variability and change, geoscience and atmospheric science, physical oceanography, and meteorological observations

  • Experience in climate modelling, data analysis, and statistical methods
