Job Description

NUS Centre For the Arts (CFA) comprises the NUS Museum and NUS Baba House; the University Cultural Centre (UCC); and a Talent Development and Programming division that oversees 21 student arts excellence groups in music, dance, theatre and film.  

 

On campus and beyond, we aim to provide opportunities for the appreciation of the arts and seek to champion creative possibilities and inspire strong communities through programming, exhibitions, workshops and outreach such as the University’s flagship arts event, the NUS Arts Festival and Singapore’s longest running arts outreach programme, the ExxonMobil Campus Concerts. 

 

This role is part of the Venues Management team at UCC including but not limited to planning, developing new venues hires initiatives while maintaining and servicing existing accounts, event coordination and front-of-house duties. This role also drives the Division’s focus on marketing strategies and sales activities in order to optimise venue utilisation at UCC.


Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties

1.    Sales & Marketing
1.1.    Drive the Division’s marketing strategies
1.2.    Plan and develop new venue hire initiatives
1.3.    Initiate & maintain contacts with potential hirers/strategic partners
1.4.    Meet department targeted budget
1.5.    Meet department venue utilization budget

 

2.    Client Management (event basis)
2.1.    Handle initial contact with client
2.2.    Manage administration of enquiries, booking processes & contracts
2.3.    Conduct site recces for potential clients
2.4.    Liaise with all other divisions/departments for management of event
2.5.    Oversee on-site event management & operations
2.6.    Monitor standards for client services
2.7.    Respond to client feedback or complaints
2.8.    Manage invoices & payments related to assigned events

 

3.    Front-of-House Portfolio
3.1.    Supervise and schedule Front-of-House Ushers
3.2.    Be the Front-of-House Manager for assigned events
3.3.    Manage event reports and formulate work processes
3.4.    Respond to issues pertaining to front-of-house operations
3.5.    Manage paperwork related to front-of-house operations

 

Secondary Duties

Undertake any ad-hoc projects and duties as and when assigned.


Requirements

1. Minimum of a Bachelor degree in any field  
2. Min 3 – 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing (preferable hospitality)
3. Familiar with different market segments and proven record of accomplishment in sales and of managing corporate accounts in relevant sectors.
4. Result orientated, self-motivated with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong writing skills will be an advantage.
6. Ability & interest to train & mentor 
7. Proficient in MS Office applications  
8. Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed
