Role Purpose

Provide leadership to the asset management division of University Campus Infrastructure. This includes the estate development and asset enhancement teams within the division. This position plays a pivotal role at both strategic and tactical level, facilitating the objective as a high performance organization, developing leaders and talents, and building organization capabilities and competencies to meet current and future challenges.  


Areas of Responsibilities

Oversight of Technical Offices (Office of Estate Development & Office of Facilities Management)
Responsible for the development of long-range objectives and policies for the maintenance, development and renewal of the facilities, as well as provide short to medium-term tactical direction and operational oversight. 

Develop plans and programs that meet present and anticipated space and facility requirements. 

Provide direction and advisory to OED & OFM Directors on business operations and promote cross-pollination of ideas, information sharing and co-operation among these technical offices.

 

Financial Management & Compliance
Plan overall high level budget and spending for buildings, grounds and infrastructure maintenance and improvement. 

Accountable for financials (savings, budgets, and capital) and 
compliance.  Establish a culture of uncompromising legal, regulatory and internal compliance. 

 

Innovation & Sustainability Initiatives
Support and foster innovation to maintain Engineering & FM relevance and build new capabilities.  Push relevant technology implementation. 

Identify and drive sustainability initiatives (eg. energy conservation measures) to meet organizational objectives.

 

Leadership & Talent Development
Create a high performance culture on teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, mentoring and coaching. 
Attract, retain and develop talent in order to build succession pipeline at key levels (eg. Director).
 


Role Requirements

Job Relevant Education or Certification (minimum required): 
• Master Degree or Professional Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building & Construction Services or an equivalent degree from a reputable university

 

Job Relevant Experience or Attributes:
• Minimum 20 years in senior management role of similar nature in organizations such as government agencies or developers or related industries
• Minimum of 10 years as owner of buildings/facilities with exposure in engineering, asset management and renewal. 
• Experience in working with and socializing strategies with Senior Leadership. 
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.   

 

Job Specific Technical Requirements (if any):
• Have strong foundation in finance (budgeting & cost tracking)
• Familiarity with architecture, interior design and engineering disciplines
• Strong links/network to government and professional bodies
