Asian School of the Environment is currently looking for a candidate to join them as a Senior Assistant Manager, Field and Lab.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the planning and coordination of introductory and advance field courses related to Earth and Environmental Science, leading to the successful execution and coordination of the undergraduate field program in ASE.
Work with faculty to define, source and coordinate field needs for courses
Arrange logistics (flights, ground travel, food, equipment)
Liaise with overseas collaborators and facilitators
Develop and execute safety plans and risk assessments
Plan, manage, and review field course budgets
Travel with field courses to provide assistance on the ground
Coordinate laboratory teaching needs related to Earth and Environmental Science
Coordinate with faculty to define laboratory needs for current and future courses
Assist faculty with use of laboratory equipment for teaching
Complete and required training courses, including those related to safety or first aid
Willing to travel frequently for short periods and occasionally for longer periods (up to 5 weeks per trip)
Requirements
Bachelor/Master’s Degree majoring in Earth Science, environmental science, geography or related fields
Strong background in field studies and travel coordination
Working experience or willingness to learn financial management/accounting, including procurement and payment
Effective oral and written communication skills
Preferred: Valid driver’s license, and significant driving experience
Minimum 2 years working experience preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to details
Ability to work well with a diverse team in a dynamic working environment
Ability to manage financial budgets
Comfortable working with undergraduate students
Logical thinking and creative problem solving is essential
