Senior Assistant Director, Major Gifts

This role works with the Dean and faculty members of Nanyang Business School (NBS) to build, manage and execute successful fundraising strategies leading to major gifts in support of NTU’s and NBS’s mission, vision and growth. The incumbent will identify, cultivate, solicit and maintain key relations with a portfolio of contacts (current donors and prospective donors) – with the view to match their giving interests with the University’s and NBS’ strategic priorities and fundraising needs.

The Senior Assistant Director, Major Gifts will work together with the Dean, faculty members and Principal Investigators to develop gift opportunities and create proposals to seek the interest of potential donors. The incumbent will facilitate gift structuring to optimize donor’s gift purpose and manage the process of closing the gift and work with the UAO Stewardship team to cultivate and steer donors to the next level of giving.

This role will be responsible for significant personal target as part of the overall team target. The incumbent will be the main liaison point for the Nanyang Business School in fundraising matters related to the School.

Requirements:

  • University degree in any discipline

  • Experience in Higher Education/Not-For-Profit fundraising with an ability to achieve monthly activity targets as a key metric of performance, is preferred. Candidates with appropriate business development/consultative sales experience may also be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and diverse relationships and the proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate confidently and professionally with donors, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent written communication skills with extensive experience in developing business cases, proposals, and presentations.

  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-moving team environment.

  • Sound acumen and strong professional presence as well as a collegial work style that promotes teamwork, creativity and open communication.

  • Awareness of and sensitivity to a diverse range of stakeholders

  • A global, socially conscious mindset with an understanding and appreciation of cultural and intercultural sensitives

  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach

  • Ability to influence without authority
