Research Scientist (Psychology, Communications, Public Health)

Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore (RRIS) invites applications for the position of Research Scientist.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead/Co-lead and provide research and domain expertise in the field of the built environment and its impact on participation, psychosocial wellbeing, and public health indicators. This includes data collection, including the management of recruitment of participants for research projects and liaising with external partners.

  • Responsible for project management – includes ethics application, monitoring project progress, managing audit trail.  

  • Contribute expertise in the areas of translational/implementation science research for BE-FIT project.

  • Conduct data analysis: qualitative, mixed methods, quantitative - To primarily use qualitative tools such as NVivo; to use quantitative tools such as “R” or Stata, when needed.

  • To plan, draw up new proposals and refine existing research projects.

  • To write manuscripts, reports and grant proposals. To prepare for poster and oral presentations.

  • Work across projects related to musculoskeletal studies

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

  • Masters in psychology, communications, public health or any related course.

  • Experience working with clinicians and patient population group is advantageous.

  • Ability to conduct, coordinate and supervise trials

  • Advanced knowledge in research methods- mixed methods, quantitative

  • Understanding of qualitative methodologies

  • Outstanding publication record

  • Good people management skills
