School of Social Sciences (SSS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Associate (RA). SSS has nearly 100 faculty members and more than 1,700 undergraduates who major in the four degree programmes the School offers: Economics, Psychology, Public Policy and Global Affairs, and Sociology. There are more than 180 graduate students in our PhD and MA programmes (by research), and MSc programmes in Applied Economics and Gerontology. The School’s holistic and rigorous education aims to prepare our students with analytical and critical capacities that can be applied in the classroom and future careers. Apart from being deeply engaged in their disciplinary pursuits, our faculty members are also at the forefront of cutting-edge research between the social sciences and other disciplines.

The database compiled and research reports produced by the RA will be very useful for MSAE to identify key indicators that are important in the admission of top students to MSAE and the job placement of students graduated from MSAE. In addition, this RA will also help compile research output produced by economics faculty, assist economics research seminars/ workshops and conferences.

Job Responsibilities

  • To analyze the association between the review scores of students and their academic performance in MSAE

  • To identify key factors that determine the academic performance of students in MSAE and their job applications

  • To collect relevant information on the rankings of NTU Economics by QS and THE and assist on analysis and suggestions on how to improve the rankings

  • To help compile research output produced by economics faculty

  • To assist economics research seminars/ workshops and conferences


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Economics or related disciplines

  • Competent in Eview, Stata and other data analytic toolbox

  • Good command of Microsoft office especially Excel

  • Proficient in both verbal and written English

  • Motivated person

  • Great team player

  • Strong analytical skills
