Research Fellow (Terahertz Pulse Generation)

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS). The candidate will work on the generation and detection of freely propagating terahertz pulses based on nonlinear optical techniques.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducting literature review

  • Building Lithium Niobate crystal-based setup for terahertz generation

  • Terahertz pump-probe spectroscopy

  • Disseminating the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed journals

  • Perform simulation for device optimization

  • Modelling and simulation of light matter interaction

  • Make regular progress report to PI


Job Requirements

  • Must have Ph.D. in Applied Physics, or stream associated with applied optics and photonics.

  • Experience in making/optimizing nonlinear crystal-based terahertz spectroscopy setup.

  • Experience in material characterization using terahertz spectroscopy

  • Experience in using FDTD, MATLAB, and COMSOL multiphysics software platforms

  • Understanding of fundamental principles photonic devices and systems
