A Research Fellow position is available at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in NTU. The DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) Laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation sequencing (NGS) and CRISPR-Cas, to read and write genomes and transcriptomes in living cells.

The Research Fellow will be involved in efforts to develop new tools and methodologies to push the boundaries of genomics and synthetic biology.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out directed evolution, genomics profiling, and genetic toolkit development

  • Analyze experimental data and prepare reports

  • Write and publish journal papers

  • Guide PhD students and undergraduates

Job Requirements: 

  • A PhD degree from a reputable university in science or engineering

  • Strong research experience in biomedical sciences or biotechnology (such as genomics, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, bioengineering etc)

  • Outstanding publication track record, preferably with a first-author paper in a high-impact journal

  • Deep knowledge of the latest genomic technologies, including CRISPR and high throughput sequencing
