Research Fellow (Super-Resolution Fluorescence Imaging on 2D materials)

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) for an initial contract of one year, with possible extension of up to two years .

Job Responsibilities

  • Heavily involved in the laboratory research work

  • Train graduate and undergraduate students

  • Draft reports and scientific publications

  • Other duties include, but not limited to, the maintenance of key instruments, administrative duties such as purchase of chemicals and consumables, coordination of collaborations, and presentations of research progress


Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field,

  • Strong publication record

  • Prior experience in super-resolution imaging of nanocatalysis

  • A good command of speaking and writing in English will be an advantage

  • Experienced in the preparation of 2D materials, and familiar with a range of characterization techniques such as XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, AFM, optical/fluorescence microscopy, photocatalysis and electrochemistry

  • Prior experience analyzing single molecule reaction kinetics and dynamics

  • Use both Microsoft Office suite and other scientific data processing software, such as Origin, MATLAB, Python, C
