The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine’s research programme in Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine is seeking a highly experienced research fellow with a background in discovery and development of therapeutics. The selected candidate will work on projects related to tissue regeneration, through cell replacement and/or stimulation of endogenous repair pathways. In addition they will contribute to research on organoid models especially gastrointestinal, lung and skin organoid systems generated from iPSC and/or primary sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original cell and molecular biology research on stem cells and organoids

  • Plan and perform experiments

  • Supervise and manage project teams using project management software

  • Document progress faithfully and accurately

  • Write grant applications and reports

  • Report regularly and clearly to the PI

Key Competencies:

  • Candidates must have a PhD in relevant field of molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering, or other life sciences.

  • Experience in organoid biology and/or bioprinting, evidenced by a record of publications

  • Experience in drug and natural product discovery and development

  • Experience in biomaterials science, molecular biology, primary & 3D cell culture techniques, transfection, microscopy (e.g. confocal/lightsheet/two-photon)

  • Willingness to learn new techniques, especially in materials sciences

  • Organized, motivated, self-driven, collaborative and reliable

  • Adaptable in a rapidly changing research environment

  • Clear communicator and good presenter

  • Industry experience required
