Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) to develop theoretical models and simulations to improve the understanding and contribute to the characterization and scalability of phosphorus donor qubits in silicon. The selected candidate will join a cross-institutional project bringing multiple expertise covering the design, fabrication, characterization and modeling of spin qubits in silicon, as well as related disciplines.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to,

• Structural and electronic properties of single and multiple P donors in Si

• Spin-orbit interaction in donor qubits

• Operation and readout in 1D and 2D qubit arrays

• Quantum noise spectroscopy and mitigation strategies

• Spin-photon coupling in qubit-resonator systems

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the theory in qubit device modelling in silicon, and scaling up to multi-qubit modular devices, and support experimental activity with state-of-the- art modelling

  • Research manuscript writing, and contribute in grant writing

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Physics (or related field)

  • Past experience in silicon qubits (or related topics) will be advantageous

  • A background in quantum information research is expected

  • A strong publication record, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and team orientation are advantageous
