A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS). The Research Fellow is required to perform detailed theoretical quantum materials research in quantum geometrical materials, correlated matter, and out-of-equilibrium systems. The Research Fellow will support the group’s efforts in understanding and predicting new opto-electronics and correlated behavior in quantum materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform theoretical quantum materials research in quantum geometrical materials, correlated matter, and out-of-equilibrium systems

  • Develop new formalism to describe linear and non-linear responses in quantum matter

  • Write and implement numerical code to evaluate their quantum responses

  • Effectively collaborate with experimentalists

  • Write academic research articles and, if assigned, be able to present research work at scientific conferences and meetings

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Physics

  • Strong ability and skills in theoretical condensed matter tools that include linear and nonlinear response in inhomogeneous media and at finite frequency

  • Skills in formulating new theoretical descriptions of quantum phenomena as well as experience in developing and implementing effective electronic models of a range of quantum matter

  • Track record of publications in the plasmonic, electronic, and opto-electronic behavior of quantum materials
