Research Fellow (Peptide Engineering)

The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To develop stimuli-responsive peptide coacervates capable of forming condensed liquid-like droplets and to disassemble upon external stimuli.

  • To carry out drug delivery experiments in vitro and investigate intracellular delivery of therapeutics, including antibodies, mRNAs, anti-cancer peptides, etc…

  • To develop molecular biology protocols for CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing.

  • To supervise post-graduate students, write scientific papers, and interact with our industrial collaborators.

Job Requirements: 

  • PhD in materials science and engineering, bioengineering, or synthetic chemistry.

  • Excellent technical skills in peptide characterization techniques, peptide synthesis, and peptide conjugation chemistry.

  • At least 4 years of experience with cell culture techniques, fluorescence microscopy, NMR and FACS.

  • Prior experience with liquid-liquid phase separation related research will be considered a strong asset.
