The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) is an interdisciplinary school at NTU which hosts world-class education and research programs in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering. We aim to nurture future-ready researchers with the ability to tackle new challenges in chemicals manufacturing, healthcare, energy, food, and other important sectors.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Focus on the NHC catalyzed rapid synthesis of functional products

  • Designing and synthesizing catalysts and other molecules, as well as planning and executing chemical reactions, alongside conducting mechanistic studies

  • Designing and synthesizing potentially bioactive molecules, and conducting bioactivity and mechanistic studies (with collaborators when needed)

  • Responsible for other research and laboratory duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Job Requirements: 

  • Hold a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field with a focus on organic synthesis, new methodology development, and the synthesis and biological activity evaluation of functional small molecules.

  • Demonstrate a strong record of successful research in the aforementioned areas, including a history of publications and other related achievements in reputable scientific journals and conferences.

  • Showcase proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior researchers.

  • Display a strong understanding of chemical principles and techniques, coupled with the capability to innovate, and contribute to the development of novel chemical entities with potential applications in various fields.
