Research Fellow (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Civil Engineering)

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow will work on a project to conduct the research on developing ultrasonic based non-destructive evaluation methods.

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Design ultrasonic experiments

• Process the results with advanced signal processing techniques

• Participate in the design and testing of electronic board for ultrasonic applications

• Perform finite element simulations in ultrasonic wave propagation in solids

• To work with PhD and other research staff to solve different measurement problems

• Drafting and submission of technical progress reports at regular intervals

• Presenting of research progress and latest findings at regular intervals

Job Requirements: 

• A PhD degree related to Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Or Civil Engineering

• Strong experimental skills, including design, measurement, and data processing

• Strong programming skills (Matlab, C++ or Python)

• Good knowledge in electronics design and testing

• Good knowledge of wave propagation

• Excellent English writing and communication skills

• Knowledge in material characterization, finite element modelling, ultrasonic array and ultrasonic guided waves will be an advantage
