The School of Materials Science and Engineering has significantly changed over time. An ideal candidate for this position should possess a solid background in electrochemistry, materials science, chemistry, and materials physics.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting cutting-edge research in small molecule electrocatalysis for electrolysis and fuel cells.
Primarily investigating the correlation between catalysts' solid-state properties and their performance, including the development of new electrode materials for small molecule catalysis.
Providing day-to-day assistance to the research team.
May have the opportunity to undertake open-ended research projects under the supervision of the research team.
Mentoring and guiding graduate students
Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Solid-state Physics, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
Proficient analytical and conceptual skills.
Capable of working autonomously or collaboratively within an R&D context.
Demonstrated track record of publishing papers in conferences and journals.
Willingness and aptitude for mentoring and guiding graduate students on relevant methodologies.
Consistent production of detailed reports and well-organized documentation.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
Extensive research background in electrocatalysis, catalyst development for fuel cells, and materials chemistry.
Ability to contribute effectively as a team member in experimental research support.
Strong capacity for independent research pursuits.
