Looking for a research fellow or research engineer to bring fresh perspectives in the areas of UX, human-computer interaction, computer graphics and immersive technologies (AR/VR/MR/XR), and to investigate advanced usability scenarios and how immersive technologies can make an impact on high-speed broadband cellular networks.

You will work on a specific project and also amongst a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, industry partners and students. Versatility, enthusiasm, technical skills and leadership qualities are highly desired traits that will enable you to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

SIT has a strong applied research focus in usability and immersive technologies, with a diverse pool of interdisciplinary projects that work hand-in-hand with their industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct research experiments to address research questions
  • Lead and support high quality publications to disseminate the applied research outcomes
  • Lead engineers and students to develop research software artifacts and outcomes
  • Manage research and implementation projects including development of features required, tracking progress, and measuring impact

Job Requirements:

  • Prior research experience in the areas of human-computer interaction, computer vision, computer graphics as well as related areas.
  • Demonstrated abilities in managing research projects on the ground end-to-end, from defining research questions to publishing results
  • Implementation experience in applied domains related to immersive technologies (e.g., virtual, augmented, mixed realities)
  • Preferably a Masters or Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent
