Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to develop a microgrid digital twin (DT) model for effective energy management and deployment.
  • Work with the research team in SP One for data collections from electrical asset in SP Concept Lab.
  • Work with SIT research team to deliver the work scope and undertake these responsibilities in the project:
  • Deliver working component level models for generator, PV panel and battery for SP Concept Lab through liaising with the team in SP One as well as coordinating with operator for Ubin microgrid for sensors installation
  • Develop dynamic models of solar PVs and battery energy storage systems, power electronic converters and electrical loads for microgrid applications for SP Concept Lab and Ubin microgrid
  • Verification of developed microgrid grid component models using monitored data from the physical microgrid system.
  • Successfully connect the microgrid real-time simulation system with commercial MG EMS controller for microgrid digital twin performance verification.
  • To co-lead in the data analytics and artificial intelligence algorithms for modelling of PV and batteries for conditions monitoring and prediction for asset maintenance.
  • Deliver the working prognosis algorithm for battery and solar PV module life prediction for microgrid application. Application of machine learning for solar PV module and battery module life prediction.
  • Implement and carry out simulation studies for microgrid and interconnected-microgrids
    • Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
