Research Fellow (Energy Imports)

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N ) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform literature review and survey to understand the developments and trends of energy imports (both existing and potential) and clean and renewable energy projects

  • Understand existing routes of energy imports into Singapore for benchmarking purpose in the study

  • Responsible for building the model and evaluate the costs, effectiveness, efficiency, environmental impact of different pathways of energy imports and technologies into Singapore

  • Responsible for performing the analysis and provide insights to the analysis

  • Prepare drafts of presentation slides, and progress reports to the management teams, funding agencies and stakeholders

  • Monitor and keep up to date the latest technology and trend in the energy imports to Singapore

  • Any other tasks as deemed necessary by the reporting officer and management

Job Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in Engineering or relevant discipline

  • Proficiency in TIMES (The Integrated MARKAL-EFOM System), UniSim Design, Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus or other equivalent tools are desired

  • Knowledgeable in the global developments of clean and alternative energy technologies/solutions

  • Specialized domain knowledge in power grid is strongly desired

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Powerpoint, Words, Excel etc.), web design editing tools and digital social media marketing

  • Able to work as a team as well as independently, pro-active and result driven

  • Good interpersonal skills and seek to contribute actively to the team

  • Excellent teamwork awareness and cohesive team player

  • Strong communication, leadership skill and initiatives
