Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

This position is for a project on developing efficient high-order methods for PDEs in non-standard complex geometries. The hiring is in line with a university wide initiative to advance the application of Computational Science in interdisciplinary research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient high-order methods for complex singular problems

  • Conduct numerical analysis for the proposed algorithms

  • Draft research papers for publication

  • Co-supervise final year undergraduate student’s projects

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics

  • Strong knowledge of mathematical and numerical analysis

  • Strong programming skills

  • Good writing and verbal communication skills

  • Positive attitude and the ability to work with researchers in group

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Good knowledge of PDE, computing and machine learning
