Research Fellow (Coastal Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering)

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. 
 

The Centre for Urban Solutions is to provide leadership in developing innovative solutions and sustainable technologies for space creation and urban infrastructure development.​

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To be involved in a research project to establish a new seawall for coastal reservoir and coastal defense system in Singapore.

• Design and execution of model testing in this project

• Carry out soil engineering property test for the design method

• Perform numerical study of the model test

• Writing and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals

Job Requirements: 

• PhD in Coastal Engineering, Geological Engineering or related discipline

• 1-year research experience in related area

• Expertise in geotechnical foundation design

• Knowledge in ground improvement, finite element analysis, numerical simulation

• Experiences in software Plaxis or Abaqus are preferred

• Publication track record is an advantage

• Proficiency in oral and written English
