The Baby-LINC Singapore Lab (https://blogs.ntu.edu.sg/baby-linc/) is looking for talented Research Engineers to join a fast-paced and dynamic new Wellcome Trust LEAP 1kD infant sociometrics programme led by PI Associate Professor Victoria Leong. This interdisciplinary research programme will develop lab-based and portable scalable tools – including dyadic-EEG, eye-tracking, motion-tracking, speech and video analytics - for the measurement of the effects of social interaction on infants’ developing cognition and executive function. You will join a dynamic and friendly international consortium as part of the Baby-LINC lab in Singapore and in Cambridge (UK). You will also have opportunities to interact with the wider Wellcome Trust LEAP network whose partners include Harvard, Yale, Stanford and other Universities across global sites in Boston, New Zealand, Sao Paolo, Singapore, Malawi and more.
Job Responsibilities
To achieve the successful assembly, integration and tight time synchronization of the lab-based multimodal sociometrics sensor suite comprising dyadic-EEG, ECG, eye-tracking, motion-tracking, video and audio datastreams that will be simultaneously collected from an interacting parent-infant dyad
Assist with the data analysis and data quality benchmarking of this lab-based dataset
Work closely with co-PIs on computational modelling and toy sensor integration aspects of the project
Work closely with our industry partner, Neeuro, to develop a portable wireless EEG headset suitable for infant home use
Job Requirements
Essential
A good Bachelor’s degree (at least second-upper) in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Experience in the collection and analysis of one or more of these forms of data:
EEG (strongly preferred)
ECG
Eye-tracking
Motion-tracking
Automated video or speech analysis
Efficient, organised and self-motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines
A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desired
Skills in machine learning and/or computational modelling and analysis of large complex datasets
Experience working with human participants in an experimental context
Interest in neuroscience or developmental psychology
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
