Research Engineer I (Electrical & Electronics)

A Research Engineer I position is available in the Smart Nation Translational Lab, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Job Description:

• Propose, design and execute Smart Nation projects with feasible productization

• To develop sensing device for performing urban noise mitigation

• To develop engineering devices, software coding, prototyping and deployment of units

• Overall IoT system architecture design and development – sensors integration, communication protocols, power management and scalability

• Project management to ensure deliverables are met

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s in engineering or Science

• Embedded system hardware (Renesas, Texas Instrument, Green Peak, Nordic, Broadcom, Arduino) and software integration which includes I2C, UART, SPI, power management

• Software skills: assembly, C, Python, InfluxDB (open-source time series database), Grafana (interactive visualization web application), GovTech’s DECADA integration, Docker (open-source containerization platform), GitHub (software version control)

• Software architecture design, development, and optimization from sensor input to cloud integration to visualization

• Knowledge in digital signal processing applied to active noise control is critical and essential in this project

• Knowledge in product cycle development from design, development, product release to manufacturing

• Proficiency in English
