The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assess requirements then transform into preliminary designs and prototypes.

  • Design, implement, debug, and refactor the firmware of robotic device/mechatronic system.

  • Define and execute qualifying criteria of every development stage.

  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing and solution deployment.

  • Perform stringent risk and root cause analyses to ensure high-quality.

  • Analyse the operation data of robotic device/mechatronic system deployment.

  • Optimize development’s processes as well as costs.

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related fields.

  • Solid ownership, user-centered, and quality oriented.

  • Solid experience in designing robotic device/mechatronic system.

  • Proficient in kinematic/motion analysis.

  • Proficient in embedded system designs and firmware development using C/C++.

  • Familiar with general buses including I2C, SPI, UART and USB

  • Any of the followings would be plus:

    • Experience in C#.

    • Experience in PCB design.

    • Familiar with STM32 MCU and development/debugging tool chain.
