Research Engineer (Communications and Network)

Satellite Technology And Research Centre (STAR) is a world-class centre for advanced distributed satellite systems using multiple satellites flying in formation, constellation, or swarm. STAR has developed multiple satellites to be launched in 2024 for formation flying and maritime navigation.

STAR has established several state-of-the-art facilities one of which is the autonomous operation of ground operations using its newly setup ground station. After launch, the ground station is pivotal to establish communication with the satellites for retrieving telemetry status, tasking, and executing missions. The role will expose candidates to:

Participate in real-time satellite operations.
Research & Innovate autonomous solutions for seamless ground operations.
Exploit and address vulnerabilities in network systems, while ensuring a robust ground infrastructure
 

What we look for
• Bachelor's/master’s degree in engineering from a reputable university 
• Comprehensive knowledge of using development tools (analyzers and oscilloscopes) and software IDEs
• Basic understanding of satellite communication systems and wireless networks
• Team-oriented individual with good inter-personal skills
• Fluent verbal and written communications skills
• Interest in spacecraft engineering and inquisitiveness to learn new things
• Open to Fixed Term Contracts
