Research Associate (Nanochemistry)

We are a plasmonics-focused group from Chemistry and Biological Chemistry department (CBC). We are looking for a Research Associate to develop SERS platforms for gas detection. Our proposal focuses on achieving instant and direct SERS readout of gases molecules in real time and the roles of the job include development of a panel of SERS platforms, design and development of gas chamber.

The target is to combine SERS and a gas chamber to achieve a rapid detection of gaseous molecules.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Synthesize manufacturing-scale nanoparticles to meet the demand for SERS chip fabrication

  • Involve in chemical functionalization of nanoparticles

  • Optimize the synthesis and functionalization protocol

  • Assist in building the chemometric model based on the SERS data and facilitate data processing


Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or related fields

  • Strong background in Nanochemistry

  • Strong lab skills

  • Good knowledge in SERS platform development

  • Competent in data analysis

  • Experience in a plasmonics lab with strong background in SERS platform development

  • Have knowledge on synthesis of nanoparticles, fabrication to produce SERS platform and the functionalization

  • Good lab skills, high competency in data analysis is also favored
