Research Associate (Geophysics/Geotechnical Engineering/Geoenvironmental Engineering)

The Centre for Urban Solutions is to provide leadership in developing innovative solutions and sustainable technologies for space creation and urban infrastructure development.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities.

CEE is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate for a research project.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be involved in a research project related to geophysics, geotechnical engineering, and geoenvironmental engineering.

• Familiar with data analysis and data fusion related to geophysical, geotechnical and geoenvironmental fields including shear-wave velocity, physical and mechanical behaviours of mixed waste materials, and chemical characterization of mixed waste materials, etc.

• Perform independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives.

• Develop new solutions.

• Seek funding for new research directions.

• Publish high-quality journal papers to promote the international reputation of the Centre and the University.

Job Requirements:

• A Master Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geophysics, or equivalent from a recognised university.

• Have good knowledge in Geophysics, Geotechnical Engineering and Geoenvironmental engineering.

• Good verbal and written communication in English.

• Working or research experience of at least 1 year is desirable.
