A Research Associate position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual to work as a research associate. The position is in civil engineering and will focus on track test and AI technologies for intelligent underground infrastructure modeling and monitoring. The earliest starting date for the position will be Sep 2023.

Job Description:

  • Build and test track models in the lab

  • Simulate multiple faults in the specimens, e.g., cracks and bolt loosening

  • Develop efficient machine learning algorithms for fault diagnosis and prognosis

  • Publish several papers in top journals

  • Write proposals for further development

  • Mentor students

Job Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

  • Extensive experience in structural analysis or machine learning.

  • Excellent skills for data analytics

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

  • A good record of referred journal publications or conference presentations is a plus
