The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is now accepting applications for research assistants and post-doctoral research fellows in data science - operations research with application to air transportation. Successful candidates will join an active group of Principal Investigators to work within the Aviation Studies Institute of SUTD. The candidates will be working on developing and analyzing models for evaluating the impact of policy prescriptions in airport systems and air-traffic management (ATM).  The project is funded by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).

An ideal candidate will have a degree with expertise in one (or) more of the following areas:

1. Operations Research, with familiarity in optimization;
2. Computer Science, with a familiarity in design and analysis of algorithms;
3. Data analytics, with familiarity in predictive and econometric models;
4. Simulation and data visualization.

Familiarity with programming/scripting is essential (R, Python, or other)

With SUTD located next to the one of the best airports in the world and a stimulating aviation ecosystem, there will be plenty of opportunities to work closely with industry experts to tackle the challenges in ATM modernization and efficient airspace operation.

In addition, we would hope the candidate would be willing to develop expertise in large scale data management and server-based systems. Experience in aviation projects is considered an advantage. Singapore Citizens/PR will have priority.
