Research Assistant/Research Associate/Research Fellow (Communication/Psychology/ Sociology/Social Science)
The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information is looking for a Research Assistant/Research Associate/Research Fellow who is interested in examining the use of digital health technologies (health apps, wearables, exergames, VR/AR) to improve older adults’ physical health and mental well-being.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with highly acclaimed scholars from NTU, Singapore ETH Centre, and ETH Zurich and contribute to the development of a digital health tech ecosystem for older adults in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct literature search
Assist in development and conceptualization of surveys, experiments, and focus group/in-depth interviews
Assist in data analysis of surveys, experiments, focus group/in-depth interviews, and “big data” from social media and health apps/wearables
Contribute to research publications and presentations
Assist in writing progress report and final research report
Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research with the support of and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
Carry out administrative work associated with the program of research as necessary
Job Requirements:
PhD and Master in fields including communication, psychology, sociology, or a social science related discipline. Bachelor’s degree with experiences in similar field are welcome.
Prior experience in social science research (e.g., quantitative/qualitative projects) and/or research in the use of digital health technologies (eg., health apps, wearables, exergames, VR/AR) in older adults
Good quantitative/qualitative data management and analytical skills (e.g., being able to analyze data using SPSS, MPLUS, R, and/or Python)
Good communication and organizational skills (ability to work in a highly collaborative and multi-cultural team environment)
Driven self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills
Team player in a project setting, also with ability to work independently in a multi-cultural team environment
Internationally recognized research track record as evidenced by journal publications and conference presentations
Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
