We are currently recruiting a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Professor Lim Kah Leong at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a joint medical school between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Imperial College London.

The candidate will be working on a project that seeks to develop human umbilical cord-lining derived induced pluripotent stem cells (CLiPS) as a universal source of cells for regenerative medicine for Parkinson’s Disease.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing the genomic stability and safety of CLiPS lines.

  • Transplanting CLiPS-derived cells into rodent and non-human primate models.

  • Evaluating the functionality and immunogenicity of CLiPS-derived cells in rodent and non-human primate models.

  • Elucidating the mechanisms underlying the immunoprivileged properties of CLiPS.

  • Assisting in general laboratory duties.

The candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Cellular/ Molecular Biology or equivalent from a reputable university.

  • Minimum 2 years of research experience.

  • Deep knowledge and interest in neuroscience and regenerative medicine.

  • Proficiency in standard molecular techniques, cell/ tissue culture, histology, microscopy and animal handling.

  • Strong team player with excellent organizational skills and communication skills.

  • Highly motivated, meticulous and reliable.

  • Experience in stem cell culture is an added advantage.
