Research Assistant (Genome Engineering)

A Research Assistant position is available in the DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) Laboratory at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in NTU. The laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation (NGS) sequencing and CRISPR-Cas, to read, write, and decipher genomes and transcriptomes in living cells. The research assistant will be involved in efforts to develop and apply new tools and methodologies to push the boundaries of genomics and synthetic biology


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Develop and apply new genomic technologies

  • Analyze data and prepare reports and presentations

  • Write and publish journal papers

  • Guide undergraduate students



Job Requirements:


  • At least a bachelor's degree from a reputable university in science or engineering

  • Some research experience in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, or a related discipline (such as genomics, genetics, computational biology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team

  • Some knowledge of the latest genomic technologies
