Research Assistant/Fellow

The duration of this Research Assistant / Research Associate position is from 1 March 2024 to 2 April 2026

Job Description

We are currently seeking talented individuals with:

• Educational research interest in interdisciplinary studies, including but not limited to STEM education, engineering education
• Able to do literature review and summarize the main findings from the literature
• Able to do qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis including but not limited to field observation, interview, systematic literature review, video analysis, statistical modeling, SEM, HLM
• Monitor project progress, draft the reports, and manage (e.g., data tools, curriculum exploration)
• Organize PD sessions for teachers in the local and international settings
• Disseminate the outcomes of the research including in peer-reviewed academic publications of international standing
• Assisting with educational research (e.g., STEM education) proposals preparations, as well as seeking and pursuing appropriate external funding in these areas
• Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator(s)

Job Requirements

To apply for this position, applicants should be:

• Proficiency or understanding of at least one of the following education-related fields: (1) STEM education, (2) engineering education, (3) psychology, and/or (4) science education
• Knowledgeable in one of the following concepts: (1) curriculum theory & co-constructed lesson designs, (2) evidence-based research, (3) educational theories (e.g., social cognitive theory, pedagogical content knowledge), (4) assessment, and/or (5) teaching and learning methods (e.g., problem-based learning)
• Proficient communication and writing skills in English
• Preferably knowledgeable and familiar with secondary education setting in Singapore
• Possess excellent problem solving abilities as well as strong attention to detail.
• Someone who can work independently while still collaborating effectively within a team environment when needed.

This is an open-rank position (Research Assistant, Research Associate, and Research Fellow), and depending on the degree and experience, the candidate will be hired and compensated accordingly. The hired candidate will primarily work with Asst Prof Ibrahim H Yeter from Nanyang Technological University.
