The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD) invites applications for a design computation researcher position. 

The project is associated with the digital transformation of urban planning processes and it is conducted in collaboration with the Singapore government and major built environment industry partners.

We seek for design computation researchers interested in creating novel analysis and design tools for aiding regulatory urban planning and building design processes. This involves processing of complex Building Information Modelling dataset to extract spatial features, construct relationships in the form of logical and metric graphs, and perform circulatory analysis for pedestrian, vehicular and cycling mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Development of computer software for data extraction and pre-processing of Building Information Modelling datasets and analysis of spatial, circulatory, and regulatory metrics.
  • Design of user interface for presentation and communication of analysis results with stake holders using static representation and web front-end technologies.

Requirements

  • Academic background in the built environment such as architecture or engineering.
  • Experience in Building Information Modelling software such as Autodesk Revit.
  • Knowledge of software development using the Python programming language.
