Research Assistant (Computer Science/Electrical & Computer Engineering)

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Research and develop a methodology/framework for high-fidelity image synthesis.

• Research and develop a methodology/framework for application of the synthesized images for training deep neural networks.

• Deploy the proposed methodology/framework in demonstration prototypes to be developed in the project.

• Report its research findings in a form of a report and/or present its research findings in international peer-reviewed conferences/journals.

• Involve in the mentoring of PhD/Masters/FYP students

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering

• Experience in image and video analytics and machine learning

• Deep understanding and hand-on experience in deep networks such as CNN and RNN

• Good communication skills in English

• Background knowledge in computer vision.

• Prior research experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision.

• Mastering of a programming language would be valued (e.g. Python, Matlab…)

• Self-driven, highly motivated, with interest to work with other researchers and scientists (team player) to produce high-quality research.
