Job Description
The successful candidate will work in a highly international and multidisciplinary environment at the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) of the National University of Singapore - a world-leading research centre dedicated to the study and application of two-dimensional materials. NUS is a globally renowned institution committed to excellence in research, education and innovation.
We are seeking a proactive professional with a wide vision spanning academia to industry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Independently conducting scientific and development work on 2D nanodevices applications
- Initiating, improving, and revising laboratory operations and testing procedures as necessary
- Formulating strategies for the production of nanodevices
- Developing nanodevices and computational simulations of nanodevice patterns
- Contributing to business strategy formulation
- Developing methods and processed in collaboration with universities, third-party laboratories, and suppliers
- Collaborating with researchers, postgraduates, and staff of CA2DM on research activities
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold an internationally-recognized Bachelor's and Master's degree in areas related to material science or engineering
- Have more than five years of hands-on experimental laboratory activities
- Have experience in laboratory management with a problem solving approach
- Demonstrate strong knowledge in nanodevices development, biosensors development, biotechnology device applications, materials processing, biomaterials functionalization, materials and nanodevices characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, XRD, Raman, electrical impedance, optical microscopy, SEM, TEM, UV-Vis, TGA, DSC, and mass spectroscopy)
- Have experience developing magneto-elastic devices
- Have experience in writing scientific articles
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English
