The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is looking for a skilled and motivated Project Officer for research in medical/soft robotics. This project involves designing, fabrication and testing of medical robot system.

Applicants with strong background in mechatronics, biomedical robotics or other relevant topics are encouraged to apply. Specifically, the medical robot system is developed for the urinary system and GI tract. Candidate should have proficiency in medical robot, compliant structure, continuum robot arm or soft robot gripper. The candidate also needs to meet the project deliveries and milestones.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Research of applicable design, manufacturing methods and evaluation standards

  • Work closely with the medical experts to improve the existing prototype

  • Responsible for coordination within the group 

  • Assist research fellow to meet the project deliveries and milestones

  • To advance the knowledge, to publish in leading journals and conferences

Job Requirements: 

  • Master’s/bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, robotics, biomedical or related fields

  • Familiar with any of the following: mechatronic system, medical robot, compliant structure, continuum robot arm or soft robot.

  • Good robot system integration and application experiences.

  • Creative and independent in problem solving and commitment to quality research

  • Team player with good interpersonal/communication skills
