Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore invites applications for the position of Project Officer/ Research Associate (Electrical and Computer Engineer).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in the design, development, and testing of prototypes and applications specifically for medical use, including wearable health monitors, embedded diagnostic tools, and mobile health applications.

  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team, including software engineers, medical experts, and data scientists, to integrate electrical and computing technologies with medical science effectively.

  • Develop firmware and software for devices and applications, including real-time data processing, user interface design, and wireless communication functionalities.

  • Document the development process, design choices, and testing results thoroughly for regulatory submissions and patent applications.

  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in electrical and computer engineering, wearable technology, and medical devices, applying innovative approaches to challenges in medical application development.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.

  • More than 2 years of experience in designing and developing hardware and software for wearable or embedded systems, preferably with exposure to medical applications.

  • Proficient in programming languages relevant to embedded systems and application development, such as C, C++, Java, and Python.

  • Familiarity with hardware and wireless communication protocols and experience integrating them into devices.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of mobile development platforms (iOS, Android) for creating patient centric applications.
