A Project Officer position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop scanning-probe based UHV fabrication and implement clean-room based nanofabrication (electron beam lithography, wet- and reactive ion etching, metal deposition, etc.)

  • Work is directed towards implementing existing quantum device process flows towards the development of a spin-based quantum processor

  • Work together with graduate research students and other members of our team to fabricate of devices towards building qubits

  • Opportunity to lead or participate in the electrical characterisation of quantum devices, including the setup of measurement protocols, data collection and analysis


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Physics, Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering

  • Hands-on experience in UHV and/or cleanroom processing, including device nanofabrication

  • Experience in lithography and etching techniques will be advantageous

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team

  • Resourceful in problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Meticulous and analytical in experimental work

  • Demonstrated ability to publish high-impact research publications

  • Good presentation skills
